Chili Pepper, Aleppo






 Known as “pul biber” or flake pepper. Used in Middle Eastern & Mediterranean cuisine. Also called Halaby pepper. Named after Aleppo, a city in Syria. Grown in Syria & Turkey. Moderate heat level (approx. 10,000 Scoville Heat Units.) Has a slightly salty taste and can be used as a substitute for crushed red pepper or paprika.
