(Chee-Po-tleh) Smoked jalapeno chili peppers; also known as chili ahumado. Dated back to Mexico City prior to the Aztec civilization. Produce a smoky, sweet, meaty flavor with intense heat. Use on grilled or roasted meats, soups, stews, salsas, and barbeque sauces. Also terrific in seafood dishes and stir fry.
